SUMMARY:2026 Capitol Series | Senator Christopher Cabaldon
DESCRIPTION:Join the East Bay Leadership Council for the second installment of the 2026 Capitol Series featuring a Q&A conversation with Senator Christopher Cabaldon.\n\nSenator Cabaldon brings a perspective that extends well beyond the boundaries of his district. Over two decades as Mayor of West Sacramento\, he helped lead a major transformation of the city\, pairing economic development and housing growth with new approaches to transportation\, education and workforce preparation.\n\nNow representing the Third Senate District\, Cabaldon has a front-row seat to many of the economic challenges facing California. His sprawling district stretches from East Contra Costa through Solano and Napa and into portions of Sonoma\, Yolo and Sacramento counties\, connecting communities grappling with industrial transition\, new manufacturing and development\, housing growth\, wildfire resilience\, water\, transportation and infrastructure.\n\nThose issues are increasingly familiar in the East Bay. Cabaldon chairs the Senate Committee on Privacy\, Digital Technologies and Consumer Protection and serves on committees focused on housing\, education\, natural resources and water\, and the state budget. He also serves on the Green Empowerment Zone\, connecting his work directly to efforts to grow jobs and economic opportunity in the East Bay.\n\nBefore joining the Senate\, Cabaldon served as Vice Chancellor of the California Community Colleges and led higher education policy for the State Assembly. As Mayor\, West Sacramento became the first city in the nation to implement universal preschool and expanded access to internships\, free community college and college admission for local students.\n\nWe're excited to welcome Senator Cabaldon for a wide-ranging conversation about what it will take for California to attract and retain investment\, prepare workers for a changing economy\, build the housing and infrastructure needed for growth\, and help communities navigate major economic transitions.
