What is the Drought Contingency Plan?
On June 30, 2017, a Draft Drought Contingency Plan was submitted to the Bureau of Reclamation by the Bay Area Regional Reliability (BARR) coalition of 8 water supply utilities. The Drought Contingency Plan is the first regional effort by BARR and was prepared under a grant received from the Federal Bureau of Reclamation. The results are a series of possible physical interconnections that would make water supplies to other utilities in emergency or drought conditions.
