Event Description:
On June 7, 2016, more than 70 percent of Bay Area voters passed Measure AA, a $12/year parcel tax expected to generate $500 million over 20 years for Bay restoration projects and related flood protection and public access. Since then, the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority Board, staff, and advisory committee have been working hard to prepare for the first Measure AA request for proposals (RFP). The Authority has identified over 100 projects along the Bay shoreline that are expected to be eligible for funding, including more than 20 projects in Contra Costa County. The first RFP is expected to be released this September, with the first grants expected to be awarded by the Board in early 2018. Learn more about the Restoration Authority, Measure AA, and what it could mean for the Contra Costa shoreline.

Our guest is Jessica Davenport, a project manager for the State Coastal Conservancy and the San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority. She manages projects that promote habitat restoration, open space protection, and recreation. She has 12 years of experience in planning ecosystem habitat land use programs in the SF Bay/Delta estuary. Please come and learn about current activities being funded by Measure AA.
