Event Description:

Curious about what is happening with our local reservoir projects? Join us as we discuss what's in store for the Los Vaqueros Expansion Project and the Sites Reservoir Project. This task force meeting will be a unique opportunity to engage with Executive Directors of the Joint Powers Authorities.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS
 
Taryn Ravazzini

Taryn assumed the role of Executive Director of the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Joint Powers Authority in September 2022. Prior to that she worked for the State of California in executive roles overseeing coordination and collaborative problem-solving for the Delta, water storage investment, water quality, water rights, and sustainable groundwater management. She served as the Acting Executive Officer of the California Water Commission, managing the final approval of regulations to award $2.7 billion for water storage projects. She also served as the Deputy Director of Statewide Groundwater Management at the California Department of Water Resources.

Taryn earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of California at San Diego and her law degree from the Golden Gate University School of Law. Prior to her work for the State of California, she held various positions in law, governmental relations, and public affairs.

Jerry Brown
Jerry has 36 years of experience including planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of water, wastewater and water recycling systems for urban areas. He started Waterology Consulting in January 2020.  In March 2020, Jerry and Waterology were selected to perform Executive Director services for the Sites Reservoir Project. In this capacity, he oversees project development by a multi-disciplined team of consultants, contractors, and experts. He serves at the pleasure of the 9 member Sites Authority JPA Board of Directors and its 22 member Project Reservoir Committee. Previously, Jerry served as General Manager of the Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) for 9 1/2 years through December 2019.

Jerry is a registered Civil and Mechanical Engineer in California. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at Northridge, a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Southern California, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from California State University at San Jose.

The East Bay Leadership Council's Water & Environment Task Force meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month and covers issues ranging from water storage and reliability to air quality regulations and innovations in energy. Employees of member companies and guests are invited to attend.
